Carmelo Anthony: Bad or Boujee?

With all of the trade rumors circling around Carmelo's departure from the New York Knicks, I can't help but wonder why he hasn't left yet and what’s really keeping him here? Every year I'm faced with the same dilemma, “When am I leaving New York” or “Do I really want to make this my home...” Truth is no. So what am I waiting for exactly? My dream job...or in Melo's case a championship.
We all know the Knicks have a LONG way to go before they bring home any rings. Heading into his 14th NBA season, can Carmelo really withstand another rebuilding phase? Has the 32-year-old become that "bad" of a player to deserve boos during a Knicks home game? Or is he just being boujee and flaunting around his no-trade clause (knowing Phil Jackson's opinions and tweets have absolutely NO control over his future)?
You see, being in New York is much bigger than just the Knicks.
The city offers tons of business opportunities off the court as well. For example, Melo collaborated with Nickelodeon last year to launch TMNT x Melo which is a kids apparel and accessories collection for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows movie. Most notably, his venture capital firm, Melo7 Tech Partners, invests in digital media startups, consumer internet and technology ventures. Some could argue that the future Hall-of-Famer wouldn't have received such opportunities in a smaller market like Denver.
Let’s just be honest, winning an NBA championship doesn't equal eternal success and riches.
At what point are your life goals more important than your championship goals?
Question: Would you consider yourself bad for building your post-NBA life over a championship?
When it’s all said and done:
Championship or No Championship
New York Knicks or Better NBA Team
Bad or Boujee
We will remain #TEAMMELO
BTB Note: Your decsions are yours, don't let other people make them for you
